Chapter 398 - 391: I Will Indulge You Today

River Sterling called out to her from behind, "Miss Shelby, where are you going?"

But he received no answer. In the blink of an eye, she had vanished through the doorway.

River Sterling, Linden Jennings, and Chase Childs exchanged a glance before turning their gazes back to Seth Quinn and Clara Grant.

Clara Grant pushed Seth Quinn away and tried to grab a wine glass again, but Seth pulled her back in one motion. He reached out and gently patted her cheek. "Clara, sober up a little. There’s no more wine here. Let’s go home and drink, okay?"

"No! I want to drink here! It has such a great atmosphere!"

Seth was exasperated. ’She’s this drunk and still cares about the atmosphere!’

He stood up, about to forcibly carry her away, when Clara Grant suddenly threw her arms around his neck. She tilted up her pretty, flushed face, her hazy eyes staring straight at him. Her moist, red lips pouted as she suddenly giggled.

"Seth, you’re here? Are you here to break up with me? When we first got together, didn’t you say you were just interested in my body?

But af... after we got married, you never even had me. Don’t you think breaking up like this is a huge loss for you? In that case... I’ll grant your wish today. Let’s do it, no holds barred, and have some breakup... sex. How about it?"

As she spoke, her lips went straight for his, and her legs instinctively wrapped around his waist.

Seth Quinn had no time to dodge. His mouth was covered by her lips and his body was trapped by her legs. Although her seduction made his mind go blank, he could still hear the sound of clicking tongues.

His lips were still pressed against hers. He shifted his eyes and saw River Sterling and Linden Jennings shaking their heads, their own eyes wide with interest as they watched the show. Meanwhile, the ever-so-slightly shy Chase Childs was awkwardly turning his head away, yet still trying to sneak a peek back.

Seth Quinn’s face darkened. He gently pushed Clara Grant’s lips away from his and barked coldly at the three spectators, "Get out!"

Chase Childs immediately obeyed the command. He turned and, with a few strides of his long legs, was out the door.

Linden Jennings, however, just smiled and pulled on River Sterling, who still wanted to see more.

At the doorway, River Sterling turned back again, gave Seth a thumbs-up, and said, "Seth, you got this! Go win your wife over... in bed!"

The next second, Linden Jennings yanked him outside.

"Man, that Clara is such a conservative girl. Who would’ve thought she’d be so open after a few drinks? Looks like this alcohol... really is good stuff!"

River Sterling mused to himself. ’If I ever come across a woman I can’t handle, I’ll just get her drunk!’

’Then again, it’s not like I’d ever need to use that trick,’ he thought. ’There’s no woman that I, Lord Sterling, can’t handle!’

"Hey, Linden, what was Clara just saying? That after they got married, Seth never truly ’had’ her? Does that mean Seth hasn’t even touched her since they married? Tsk tsk tsk, Seth really has some serious self-control!"

Linden Jennings glanced at him and said with the air of an experienced man, "You don’t get it. That’s true love. That’s respect. If a man truly loves a woman, he’d rather suffer from holding back than do anything rash when she’s not willing. You’ll understand when you find a woman you truly love."

River Sterling blinked mischievously. "Are you and your Poppy like that too? If she’s not willing, you absolutely won’t touch her?"

"We’re different. There’s never a time when Poppy doesn’t want me to touch her." Linden Jennings sounded rather smug; this was a clear sign that their private life was quite harmonious.

Besides, Poppy was the type of woman who would quiet right down after they slept together, no matter what the problem was.
