Chapter 218 Three Vehicles of Buddhism
Chapter 218 Three Vehicles of Buddhism
Chapter 218 Three Vehicles of Buddhism
Cihang Purdue, Purdue Cihang.
What Cihang Jingzhai practiced was Mahayana Buddhism.
In Sanskrit, ride means chariot. In Buddhism, a carriage is used as a metaphor for a tool for transporting sentient beings, that is, a method that carries sentient beings through life and death to the other side of nirvana.
There are three vehicles in Buddhism, namely, the Vehicle of the Shravakas, the Vehicle of the Enlightenment and the Vehicle of the Bodhisattva.
The Shravakayana, who attains enlightenment after hearing the Buddha’s words and teachings, is called the Shravaka. He knows suffering, breaks up, seeks to extinguish, and cultivates the Way, and takes the four truths of "suffering, settling, extinction, and Tao" as the vehicle, and its fruit position can reach Mangosteen.
The vehicle of conditioned enlightenment is also known as the vehicle of Pacceek Buddha and the vehicle of solitary enlightenment. It is called conditioned enlightenment because it observes the twelve causes and conditions and realizes the truth.First contemplate ignorance and even old age and death, and then contemplate the cessation of ignorance and cessation of old age and death. From this cause and condition arises and ceases, that is, one realizes neither birth nor extinction. This is the multiplier of the twelve causes and conditions, and its fruit position is the fruition of Pratyekya Buddha.
The Bodhisattva Vehicle is also known as Mahayana, Buddha Vehicle, and Tathagata Vehicle.Seeking the supreme Bodhi, willing to save all sentient beings, practice the six perfections and ten thousand actions, and use the six perfections as the vehicle.
"The Lotus Sutra" says: "If there are living beings with wisdom within them, who hear the Dharma from the Buddha, the World Honored One, accept it with faith, and make diligent efforts to quickly escape from the three realms and seek Nirvana, this is the vehicle of fame and hearing."
"If there are sentient beings who, from the Buddha, the World-Honored One, hear and accept the Dharma with faith, make diligent efforts, seek natural wisdom, enjoy pure and peaceful tranquility, and fully understand the causes and conditions of all Dharmas, this is called the vehicle of Pratyekabuddhas."
"If there are sentient beings, from the Buddha, the World Honored One, listen to the Dharma, believe in it, practice diligently, seek omniscient wisdom, Buddha wisdom, natural wisdom, teacher-less wisdom, Tathagata knowledge, power, fearlessness, care for the peace and happiness of countless sentient beings, benefit Celestial beings, freeing everything, is called Mahayana.”
Comparing and distinguishing Hinayana and Mahayana with "desire to leave the three realms quickly and seek nirvana" and "pleasure in peace and tranquility, and fully understand the causes and conditions of all dharmas", and "care for the peace and happiness of countless sentient beings, benefit heaven and man, and save everything".
The first two vehicles are only for self-benefit and not for others, so they are collectively called Hinayana.
"The Great Wisdom" also says: "Buddhism is all about one taste, the so-called taste of liberation from all suffering. There are two kinds of flavors of liberation: one is for oneself, and the other is for all sentient beings. Although both seek a door to liberation. , and there are differences between self-interest and benefiting others. Therefore, there are differences between the Mahayana and Mahayana."
In Buddhism, both Mahayana and Hinayana have the same goal, which is liberation.
But the methods of the two are different. The Hinayana is for self-interest, only for oneself, while the Mahayana is for the benefit of others, and for all sentient beings.
Self-interest is to separate oneself from the world, which is renunciation.
To benefit others is to combine oneself with the world, and to regard benefit to others is self-interest, which is reluctance.
In contrast, the Hinayana's spirit or attitude of giving up the world and the Mahayana's spirit or attitude of not giving up the world are very obvious.
But in general, among Buddhism, Mahayana and Hinayana are not divided into praise and criticism. They are all ways to seek liberation, and the difference is only in degree of depth.
"Wei Shu · Shi Laozhi": "The people with the first root are the Hinayana, and practice the four truths; the people with the middle root are the middle vehicle, and receive the twelve karma; Thousands of actions, saving billions of streams, lasting a long time, can reach the Buddha's realm."
What this means is that if you want to practice Buddhism, it is best to choose your practice according to your own nature.
For example, if Sakyamuni and Bodhidharma and their ilk only practice Theravada Dharma, it would be too wasteful!
And if we ordinary people practice Mahayana, we are a little overconfident!
Chen Miaoyin, who is a samsara, may not be easy to practice Mahayana Buddhism!
Among other things, just staying in the task plane for a short time is a flaw!
It would be better if you were a Skywalker, spreading the Dharma on the plane you protect, once spreading it to ten, ten to a hundred, a hundred to a thousand, a thousand to a thousand, as long as you have enough time, you can even save hundreds of millions of people and achieve the status of Buddha .
Reincarnated people can't do it. It's not easy to save thousands of people in one mission. If you want to reach hundreds of millions of people, wouldn't it take tens of thousands of missions?
Even if later on, the player's strength improves, taking the road of killing the devil and saving the world, the goal can be achieved in terms of the merit of saving, but what about Duhua?
And even if the transition goal is completed, after the mission is over, the player still has to leave, and the belief passed through the endless void will be swallowed up by the [Palace of Gods], how much of the remaining part will there be?
What's more, how can the power of a great demon king who can overwhelm the entire world be easy to deal with?
And the most important thing is that Chen Miaoyin's temperament is not in line with Mahayana Buddhism.
After enlightenment arose in her heart, Chen Miaoyin quickly made a choice, and of course she did not forget to respond to Li Zhidao and Ji Qiuqing and the others: "My question is over, how do you want us to help?"
Ji Qiuqing didn't speak, but turned to look at Li Zhidao.
Li Zhidao looked at her and knew that he was being asked to speak, so he said: "As you just said, help us find the "Secret of Immortality". Of course, you can't be our enemies in the process."
Although it was a verbal agreement, no matter whether it was Chen Miaoyin, Hu Qingdai, or Li Zhidao, anyone could call up the video at the specified time through the system without being afraid of being cheated by the other party.
Retrieving the video requires points, but it is not expensive. A minimum of 1000 points is enough. For them, this is a trivial matter.
After temporarily separating from Li Zhidao and others, Hu Qingdai asked Chen Miaoyin: "Second Sister, what are you going to do now?"
Chen Miaoyin said: "Find a place first, I want to sort out my martial arts."
It is said in "Sapodavini Viposha Volume [-]" that the theory of the treasure nature of the ultimate one vehicle is based on the common knowledge of the three vehicles obtained by the Hinayana, the common knowledge of the two vehicles obtained by the middle vehicle, and the ignorance of the two vehicles obtained by the Buddha...
What this means is that the teachings of Hinayana Buddhism are also found in Middle Vehicle and Mahayana Buddhism;
The Dharma door of the Middle Vehicle is also found in the Mahayana Buddhism, but not in the Hinayana Buddhism;
In the end, the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism are not found in Hinayana Buddhism.
The Mahayana Buddhism practiced in the "Cihang Sword Manual", naturally also has the methods of Theravada Buddhism.
Mahayana Buddhism has spread widely, and it can almost be said to be the mainstream method, but not many people have truly practiced Mahayana Buddhism, that is, many people believe in and worship the third Buddha and the four major Bodhisattvas:
The Eastern Medicine Buddha, the central and present Sakyamuni Buddha, the Western Amitabha, the past Burning Buddha and the future Maitreya Buddha;
And "Great Compassion" Avalokiteshvara, "Great Wish" Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, "Great Wisdom" Manjusri Bodhisattva, "Great Action" Samantabhadra Bodhisattva.
As for the Buddha in the "ten thousand Buddha dynasty" that Buddhism often says, in fact, it probably refers to the Pratyekabuddha who was realized by practicing the middle vehicle method.
Randomly found a remote place, Hu Qingdai helped to protect the Dharma, and Chen Miaoyin took out a cheat book, which was given to her by the "Emperor" president of the supreme beauty.
When the "Empress" heard that Chen Miaoyin had chosen the "Cihang Sword Manual" as her major training method, she collected a lot of information for her, among which was this secret book.
On the cover of the secret book, there are four big characters "Cihang Sword Code", but this is not the exercise in the novel "Da Tang", but the exercise in the comics of "Da Tang".
