Chapter 76: Sam’s Fate...!
Chapter 76: Sam’s Fate...!
"Huh?" Jason thought to himself the moment he pulled the trigger as he realized that the gun given to him was a blank.
He pulled the trigger again but the same thing happened just like the first time.
"I think I gave you the wrong gun..." Alex said sternly. There was no way that Alex would give Jason a loaded gun when the young man could easily turn and pull the trigger on him.
However, he knew this was an opportunity to see if Jason truly meant what he said.
But this served another purpose, it further fractured the relationship that they had.
Sam punched Jason right in the jaw and the bigger man tumbled to the ground, landing butt-first onto the ground.
"You’re as dumb as they come, Jason," Sam mocked him as Alex watched to see how this would turn out.
"I risked everything to come and save your pathetic ass and you have the fucking guts to try and pull this shit!?" Sam said, kicking him right in the torso.
In Jason’s current state, he felt like he would pass out the moment Sam’s boot made contact with his stomach.
The wounds on his body were opening up, and at this rate, Jason just might die.
But it wasn’t because he would bleed out, it was because Sam was about to plunge the knife in his hand right into his chest and Alex didn’t look like he was about to stop it either.
"W-Wait!" Jason tried to plead for his life but Sam wasn’t hearing any of it even though he saw that Alex wasn’t interfering he couldn’t let down his guard.
Alex should be his priority if anything but the backdoor opened to reveal multiple people wielding melee weapons.
They have been there the whole time and were listening but the most troublesome person just entered the room.
It wasn’t Alex nor the people that entered as all they did was secure the house so Sam couldn’t escape.
"Well, well, well. It looks like you were right Alex. That man really did want to join us," A dark-skinned man with a skull tattoo embedded on his neck said.
He had on a black beanie to cover his braided hair, he had on a pitch-black shirt and white shorts.
This was a test to see where Jason’s loyalty was but this wasn’t what the man that walked in was interested in. There was no mistake that Sam was strong and he handled himself pretty well.
"And who the fuck are you supposed to be?" Sam questioned the man because he could tell just by looking at him that he held some sort of authority in this place.
"You could call me your final boss," The man said to reveal his golden grilled teeth.
Sam briefly thought about killing Jason first before focusing on this man but something told him that this man was a bigger threat than both Jason and Alex.
"That is funny," Sam responded, turning his entire body towards the dark-skinned man.
"I remember killing multiple final bosses on my tour..." Sam concluded, pointing the knife towards this strange man.
Sam expected him to pull out a gun and make quick work of him but this man didn’t.
It was almost like he planned to fight him with his bare hands and this was something Sam could use considering that he, himself, didn’t have a weapon.
Sam rushed towards the man and noticed that no one planned to get in his way.
Were they underestimating him or they believed that this man would be enough to take care of him?
Sam smirked because he was about to make them regret it. He thrust his knife right at this man’s chest but he simply side-stepped the attack and Sam felt a blow to his lower jaw that forced him to stumble backwards.
"Huh?" Sam thought to himself and a second look at the man revealed that he had kicked him, his form was immaculate as his leg was 90 degrees, hanging in the air as he slowly returned it to its neutral position.
"You see, I’m not just a normal fighter like one of these fools here," The man blurted out, walking towards Sam, who was bleeding slightly.
"Ha! I can tell..." Sam complimented him but he realized that he might have gotten carried away on his part.
"That stance... Do you practice the Capoeira fighting style?" Sam asked the man who was surprised that Sam even knew of it.
"That is surprising, you know of my fighting style?" The man questioned.
Sam tossed the knife he had, he wanted to enjoy this fight and realized that if Jason had betrayed them then there was no reason to hold back.
He could run riot even though he knew the chances of him coming out of this alive were exponentially low.
"How could I not? The famous martial art that hails from South America..." Sam said and the man’s face creased into a smile.
It was nice meeting someone that wasn’t ignorant but Jason didn’t understand how and why Sam was so calm considering his situation but he had other things to worry about.
"Chronos, what is Capoeira?" Jason asked his system because he wanted to know just what these men were talking about.
[Capoeira: Capoeira is a fast and versatile martial art that is historically focused on fighting when outnumbered or at a technological disadvantage. The style emphasizes using the lower body to kick, sweep and take down their aggressors, using the upper body to assist those movements and occasionally attack as well. It features a series of complex positions and body postures that are meant to get chained in an uninterrupted flow, to strike, dodge and move without breaking motion, conferring the style with a characteristic unpredictability and versatility.]
Jason now understood why Sam knew it but he also knew that Sam was yet to show what he could do.
"I go by the name Rodrigo, and I’m the sixth Specter..." Rodrigo introduced himself because he found Sam intriguing.
