Chapter 84 The Show Begins
Chapter 84 The Show Begins
The vector was standing at the front. Seeing that they were speechless for a while after being confronted, he simply continued on his own.
"Do you think I'm standing up for them now?"
"no."
She looked at the platform, a playful smile playing on her lips.
"I'm not that free."
"I don't expect you to suddenly develop a conscience, nor do I expect you to admit what you just meant."
Whether you admit your mistake or not makes no difference. Whether you apologize or not is unimportant.
"I only care whether you give in the end, and what you're willing to give."
The area over the high platform was noticeably more gloomy.
Previously, they could still define her as "emotional" and "disruptive to judgment." Now, that's not so good; she has made her stance very clear.
She doesn't want a moral victory; she wants real power concessions.
Sure enough, a member of parliament soon spoke up in a cold voice.
"The Supreme Council is not a place for you to bargain."
The vector immediately pushes back.
"Do you want me to say even harsher things?"
She clicked her tongue.
"You've been in power for too long but neglected your duties, and you've become arrogant."
The senator on the far right of the platform said in a deep voice, "What exactly are you trying to say?"
"It's very simple." Vector raised his head. "Since you're so good at making arrangements, then arrange things as I say now to prove just how fair you really are."
Here comes the point.
The vector first shifted the focus to Orion.
"I won't argue with you about Orion."
Orion paused noticeably behind her, as if he wanted to say something, but then stopped abruptly.
The vector continued:
"I am qualified, and I deserve, the evaluations you just gave him. If you say he is suitable and has potential, I don't deny it."
"But this matter cannot end here."
Someone on the platform immediately interrupted.
"Since the Supreme Council has already reached a conclusion based on its on-site assessment..."
"That's your conclusion," the vector interrupted quickly. "It's not his."
"He himself hasn't fully accepted it yet, nor is he ready."
"You all heard it yourselves just now, he said 'wait'. If you insist on pretending not to hear, that's your problem, not his."
"You can hang it here for now."
"The qualification still belongs to him."
"You can keep that stupid test if you want."
She paused for a moment.
"But when to officially announce it, and when to truly begin moving forward, is up to him."
Now, someone on the high platform finally got really anxious.
"The leadership position is not a matter of personal choice!"
"Of course not." Vector unconsciously drew a whoosh of wind through the air with one hand. "That's why I didn't say we should decide Cybertron's future based on one person's whims!"
"But he hasn't even agreed to it himself, so what right do you have to make the decision for him!"
Finally, someone responded in the group chat.
Jazz: "Is someone recording this? This is definitely worth watching twice."
Ambulance: "...Don't cause trouble."
Orion then spoke softly, "The vector, I..."
"Don't say anything yet." Yin Xiang didn't even turn his head, but his tone softened and slowed down. "I know what you want to say."
Orion stopped immediately; he knew she was uttering the words he wasn't allowed to say.
She then spoke of another person.
"Then comes Megatron."
The atmosphere in the hearing room changed again.
Megatron stood behind her, watching her intently the entire time, his gaze never leaving her.
The vector continued, "Since you're so afraid of him, I won't ask for too much."
Red Spider casually chimed in.
Red Spider: "She usually follows up her sentences with a lot of details."
The vector almost burst out laughing, but managed to hold it in.
She then continued speaking very naturally.
"They did things, and you may criticize them, but you know perfectly well what they've done, their influence, their judgment, and their execution."
"In that case, let's give him a real place to sit."
"Caron Military District, give it to him."
Those guys on the platform couldn't sit still any longer.
"Impossible." The right-leaning congressman's expression turned cold almost immediately. "Military district control is not a bargaining chip you can exchange at will."
"So, you just said you'd give the leadership position to whoever you wanted, wasn't that a bargaining chip?" Yin Xiang replied calmly.
They were instantly choked up.
She continued:
"I've been very polite."
"Just the city of Caron, a mess that you've already made a complete mess of."
She gently raised her chin.
"You can't even bear to part with this?"
Someone on the high platform sneered.
"Your so-called 'just one caron' doesn't sound like a little bit at all."
"Then stop pretending you're really going to solve the problem," Yin Vector retorted. "Either admit that all your previous comments about him were bullshit, or give him a place."
"You can't just stubbornly insist that he has no value, can you?"
On the other side of the platform, face and logic were temporarily at odds.
They weren't happy about it.
If we don't give it to them, it will confirm that their previous assessment was just pointless and unnecessary.
The vector now completely disregards how the councilors on the high platform will respond.
She doesn't need to apologize or admit her mistakes to these bastards.
She didn't stop; instead, she slowly began to walk around the central circular area.
She deliberately walked along the edge of the pedestal toward the audience section.
She moved slowly, drawing everyone's attention to her every step.
The people on the platform were clearly more uncomfortable.
Now she is the one in control of the chessboard.
When he walked to the side closest to the audience seats, he turned his head and glanced around, looking at the machines on the rows of seats.
"Did you all hear that?"
No one answered, but many people quickly sat up straighter.
She continued:
"Those people on the high platform, when they speak, are all incredibly sanctimonious."
"And the result?"
"If they actually offer some benefits, no one will be happy at all."
She didn't intend to incite anyone; she simply pointed out the superficial appearance to everyone naturally.
"Do you understand now?"
Many people in the audience clearly understood what was happening, and a murmur of noise arose.
Alita didn't say anything, but sat in a seat near the front, resting her chin on her hand and quietly watching her, her gaze even brighter than the one in front of her.
The group chat was finally quiet enough to match its name.
After the vector completed its half-circle, it finally slowly returned.
Step by step, we returned to the area below the platform.
She stood there straight up, with the projection above her head and the group of old men sitting upright in the back.
She stopped and looked up.
"so what?"
"Do you give Orion any say in his own affairs?"
"Regarding Megatron, are you going to give him a position where he can actually get things done?"
No one on the platform answered immediately.
They've been driven all the way here by her, and they've lost all their dignity.
Even so, their silence still screamed their reluctance and arrogance.
Looking at the blurry projection, Yin Vector paused for two seconds, then suddenly burst into laughter.
Patience has officially been reduced to zero.
"OK."
"I see."
After she finished speaking, she moved a little closer.
He raised his hands and gently placed them on the metal structure below the platform.
